comment replies for the past 2 mos

I just found out that there had been comments left on some postings for the last two months. I just went through and had them posted to the site and in two cases, I added response comments. They are:
Oct 24 "shocking...they forgive a murderer"
and
Nov 7 "Haggard, Driscoll, minister, sex &...God"

rich and poor

I just finished two books that are total opposites in the experiences they communicate. I didn't purposely set out to read these two right next to each other. They just wound up in my re jading stack next to each other.

The first is really just a short history of the Sieberling family at their estate of Stan Hywett. F.A. Sieberling was the founder of Goodyear Tire Co. They were in many respects an ordinary family, but as you read their daily life, they were in the life of luxury and assumed it. One of the grandsons, John Sieberling, who is now 88, was one of the best congressman I have every had. He was on the Nixon impeachment panel.

The other book I read was Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich. Through her experience she chronicles how people in service industry jobs and on minimum wage cannot survive. The restrictions of life they live with daily I think are surprising to most of those in the middle class.

What a contradiction in these two books.
