college list

Ok, this seems to be our final working list of colleges:

St. Olaf
Northfield, MN
Lawrence
Appleton, WI
Elizabethtown
Elizabethtown, PA
Alma
Alma, Mich
Heidelberg
Tiffin, OH
Otterbein
Westerville, OH

Kate does not want to be in a music conservatory setting so she can also focus on the liberal arts. Lawrence has a conservatory, but has the only program in the country that blends its conservatory into the liberal arts curriculum.

I would like to add my 2 cents about Elmhurst Collge. My daughter majored in music there. She has an education degree, so she is certified to teach choir, band and general music k-12.

They are very liberal with scholarships for active ucc members and other non need based merit scholarships.

And the last good thing is that private lessons are included in the college tuition. That was a relief after paying for lessons for 10 plus years.
I think you can tell that my daughter is a very talented person/teacher and I am very proud of her

Good luck. Mroyer1282@aol.com

I'll put in my 2 cents for St. Olaf! It has an outstanding choir, as you know. But I have to mention my best friend lives in Northfield and it is a lovely town. Very safe and very friendly to the college students from Carlton and St.O. I'd be very comfortable sending one of my two girls there!
